The management of the Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu, has explained that delays in mobilising graduates for the National Youth Service Corps are largely due to the recent transition of the college into a full fledged university, a development described as a major milestone driven by the academic excellence of its graduates and the commitment of its leadership.
Kayode Taiwo, Public Relations Officer of the institution, issued a press statement reassuring the public that all graduates of the former Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy, Enugu, are fully qualified professionals, duly recognised and licensed to practise in their respective fields without any hindrance.
The clarification became necessary in response to enquiries and apprehension among former students regarding their eligibility for national service following growing concerns over the mobilisation delays.
The institution noted that it is barely two years old as a university and is still finalising certain administrative processes associated with its new status, acknowledging that the transition temporarily affected procedures such as NYSC mobilisation.
The university assured stakeholders that the situation is now under control, adding that proactive steps are being taken to resolve all outstanding issues affecting the graduates.
The management emphasised that all graduates have been duly registered and licensed by relevant regulatory bodies, including the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and the Dental Therapists Registration Board of Nigeria.
These certifications, according to the institution, confer full professional recognition and enable graduates to secure employment across the healthcare sector without restrictions.
The university stressed the importance of NYSC mobilisation while assuring stakeholders that the process would be completed in due course, urging affected graduates to remain patient and understanding.
FUAHSE reiterated its commitment to sustaining and advancing its legacy of academic and professional excellence, noting that despite its relatively young status as a university, it remains focused on strengthening its reputation in allied health sciences education.
The management urged stakeholders to support the institution during this transitional period, emphasising that all necessary measures are being implemented to ensure graduates can proceed with their national service obligations without further delays.
