The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced Saturday, 13th June, 2026 as the date for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop up exercise, providing a final opportunity for candidates who were unable to sit the earlier examination.
The board disclosed that the mop up is open to candidates who presented themselves and were biometrically verified during the main examination but could not complete it for various reasons. The 2026 UTME was conducted between 16th and 25th April, 2026, during which technical challenges at several centres prevented several candidates from sitting the examination. Additional candidates were listed after their results were withdrawn over examination infractions, while others who presented themselves could not be verified biometrically at the time.
JAMB stated that all candidates affected by these circumstances have been listed for the mop up exercise.
The board advised affected candidates to begin printing their Examination Notification Slips from Saturday, 6th June 2026. Candidates were further urged to familiarise themselves with their assigned examination centres and make all necessary arrangements well ahead of the 13th June date.
JAMB emphasised that no further opportunity would be provided for any candidate to sit the 2026 UTME after the mop up exercise, making it the final phase of this year's examination cycle. The board described the exercise as an avenue to resolve all outstanding challenges involving candidates who duly presented themselves but encountered difficulties during the main examination window.
Candidates eligible for the mop up are strongly encouraged to act promptly on the slip printing directive to avoid missing the exercise entirely.
