KolaDaisi University, Ibadan, will hold the formal Investiture Ceremony for its new Vice Chancellor, Professor Olajumoke Abimbola Morenikeji, on Tuesday, 21 July 2026, at Agbeke Hall, Km 18, Ibadan Oyo Express Road, Ibadan.

The Pro Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University invited the general public, friends of the Institution, and members of the academic community to the event, which is scheduled to begin at 11 AM prompt. Admission to the ceremony is strictly by invitation.

Morenikeji was named Vice Chancellor designate in April 2026 after a selection process approved by the Board of Trustees under the KolaDaisi University Law 2016, and later ratified at the 33rd Statutory Meeting of the Governing Council held on 30 April 2026. She succeeds Professor Adeniyi Olatunbosun, SAN, who previously served as Vice Chancellor of the Institution.

A Professor of Zoology specialising in Parasitology, Morenikeji holds a B.Sc, M.Sc, and PhD in Zoology from the University of Ibadan, where her doctoral research focused on the epidemiology and control of guinea worm disease in Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State. The study, partly supported by the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund, contributed to the eradication of the disease across the communities where she worked.

Before she was appointed Vice Chancellor, Morenikeji served as the pioneer Deputy Vice Chancellor of KolaDaisi University between 2023 and 2025. She has also held positions as Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Head of the Department of Biological Sciences, Chairperson of the Faculty Disciplinary Committee, and pioneer Editor in Chief of the KolaDaisi University Journal of Applied Science.

Her academic record includes more than 100 publications in local and international journals, alongside several books and technical reports, and she has supervised seven doctoral candidates. She also convened the University's first international science conference and its first science exhibition competition, initiatives credited with boosting the Institution's research visibility.

Morenikeji is expected to assume office as Vice Chancellor on 3 August 2026, with the Investiture Ceremony formally marking her inauguration into the role.
