The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has committed to strengthening Nigeria's technical and vocational examination system through technological innovation, staff capacity development, and strategic partnerships with industry stakeholders.

Dr Mohammed Aminu Mohammed, the Board's Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, made this declaration in Benin City, Edo State, whilst releasing the 2025 November/December National Business Certificate/National Technical Certificate (NBC/NTC) and Advanced National Business Certificate/Advanced National Technical Certificate (ANBC/ANTC) examination results.

Dr Mohammed explained that NABTEB's transformation strategy aims to establish Nigeria as a regional hub for skills development whilst equipping young Nigerians with modern competencies demanded by today's economy, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda. The examination body's vision aligns with broader national efforts to tackle youth unemployment through practical skills acquisition and vocational training.

Highlighting operational efficiency, Dr Mohammed disclosed that the 2025 results were processed and released within 64 days of administering the final examination paper and merely 24 days following completion of the marking exercise. This achievement demonstrates NABTEB's dedication to excellence and illustrates the advantages of incorporating modern technology into examination management systems.

The Registrar pointed to remarkable growth indicators, including a 28.42 per cent increase in candidate enrolment and a 13.92 per cent rise in examination centres, as evidence of growing public trust in the Board's credibility. These statistics indicate a shifting perception amongst Nigerian students and parents, who increasingly view technical and vocational education as a viable route to career advancement and economic independence.

NABTEB's comprehensive approach, encompassing digital innovations, capacity building, and stakeholder collaboration, represents a deliberate effort to raise standards within Nigeria's technical and vocational education and training sector. Through these initiatives, the Board seeks to align classroom instruction with industry needs, ensuring graduates acquire marketable skills meeting both local and international employment benchmarks.
