Applications for the ongoing recruitment exercise at the Ekiti State College of Technology, Ijero Ekiti, will close in five weeks from the date of publication. The Registrar, Mr. Sunday E. Ayodeji confirmed that only shortlisted candidates will be invited for further assessment once the deadline elapses. He advised interested applicants to strictly adhere to the documentation requirements to avoid disqualification.

This major recruitment drive is a direct consequence of the institution’s recent transformation. The Ekiti State Government upgraded the college to a full fledged polytechnic, a move formalised by Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on December 23, 2025. Formerly known as the College of Health Sciences and Technology, the institution is expanding its programmes to include engineering, applied sciences, and business studies, necessitating a robust injection of talent.

Management has declared vacancies across several departments to support this expanded academic scope. The School of Business and Management is seeking qualified professionals for Mass Communication, Library and Information Science, Accountancy, and Business Administration. In the School of Engineering, positions are open in Electrical and Electronics Engineering alongside Computer Engineering. The School of Applied Sciences also requires staff for Science Laboratory Technology.

Academic vacancies are available for Principal Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Lecturer I. Furthermore, the institution aims to bolster its healthcare services by recruiting a Medical Officer for the College Health Centre. Specific qualifications have been outlined for each role. Principal Lecturer applicants must hold a Ph.D. with 12 years of teaching and research experience, or a Master’s degree with 15 years of experience, alongside scholarly publications. Senior Lecturer candidates require a Master’s degree with publications and a minimum of three years of experience as Lecturer I. For Lecturer I, a Master’s degree is mandatory, with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division at the first degree level. Medical Officer applicants must possess an MBBS qualification, registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, and a valid NYSC discharge certificate.

Prospective candidates must submit their applications through the official polytechnic portal. Additionally, applicants must arrange for their referees to forward confidential reports directly to the Office of the Registrar. This strategic employment initiative is expected to reposition the polytechnic as a leading hub for technical and professional education in Ekiti State.
