The Management of Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru, has named principal officers for the newly established School of Computing and Information Technology, with all appointments taking effect from 8 June 2026 for an initial two year term, renewable once subject to satisfactory performance.
Dr. Abdullahi Salisu has been appointed Dean of the school, with Mrs. Aisha Aliyu Mohammed and Moses Ali serving as School Examinations Officer and Assistant Examinations Officer respectively.
The school comprises seven academic departments, each with a designated Head and examinations leadership.
Mallam Usman Ubandawaki will head the Department of Computer Science, which oversees the National Diploma Computer Science programme. Isah Gomna Sheshi and Mahmud Daniyan take up the roles of Examinations Officer and Assistant Examinations Officer.
The Department of Networking and Computing, responsible for the Higher National Diploma Networking and Cloud Computing programme, will be led by Adamu Isah Dagah, with Shehu Hamidu and Mrs. Hakilatu Yahuza as Examinations Officer and Assistant Examinations Officer.
Dr. Oladele O. Campbell has been appointed Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, with Abubakar Yusuf and Nasiru Umar handling examinations responsibilities.
Abdulkadir Umar takes charge of the Department of Cyber Security, with Jibrin Usman and Mrs. Hassana Yusuf serving as Examinations Officer and Assistant Examinations Officer.
Ibrahim Mohammed will lead the Department of Software and Web Development, with Peter Bake and Abdulsamad Sadiq as Examinations Officer and Assistant Examinations Officer respectively.
Dr. Ahmed Garba has been named Head of the Department of Library and Information Technology, with Suleiman Abdul Aziz and Yusuf Abdul Aziz filling the examinations roles.
The Department of Mass Communication, reassigned to the new school, will be headed by Abubakar Usman, with Jacob Tsado and Usman Yahaya serving as Examinations Officer and Assistant Examinations Officer.
Management stated that all appointments were based on professional competence and administrative efficiency, and called on staff and students to give the new leadership full support and maintain strong ethical standards in developing the school and its programmes.
