Professor Sadiq Yusuf, the Vice Chancellor of Newgate University, Minna, has revealed that the institution will introduce a range of professional and executive degrees. This announcement came during a press briefing held on Tuesday at the university campus in Niger State.
The Vice Chancellor disclosed that the university will run Doctor of Philosophy programmes in Computer Science, Business Administration, Accounting, and International Relations. He added that the institution will offer Master of Science degrees in fields such as Accounting, Public Health, and Computer Science, with specializations in Software Engineering and Information Technology Systems. Additionally, the academic lineup includes Postgraduate Diplomas in Management Studies, Computer Science, Public Health, and Health Management.
Yusuf explained that the new offerings include professional courses like the Doctor of Business Administration, Doctor of Management, and Doctor of Public Health. Other executive programmes set to commence are the Executive MBA, Master of International Affairs and Diplomacy, and Master of Strategic Studies. He assured that the university is committed to maintaining the highest academic standards.
The management stated that all arrangements have been concluded for the commencement of these newly approved programmes by the National Universities Commission. The Vice Chancellor noted that the initiatives are designed to promote research excellence and innovation driven academic leadership.
Prospective candidates were urged to visit the university website or contact the admissions office for further enquiries. The Vice Chancellor also disclosed that the university currently runs 16 academic programmes with a student population of over 2,018.
