Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic in Kaduna State has received clearance from the National Board for Technical Education to launch 18 new academic programmes in addition to its 42 existing courses.

Dr Fatima Kabir Umar, Director of Polytechnic and Allied Programmes Department, signed a letter dated 20th February 2026 conveying the approval on behalf of the Board's Executive Secretary, Professor Idris Mohammed Bugaje.

The approval followed a resource inspection and reaccreditation visit conducted by the Board at the polytechnic in January 2026.

Abdullahi Ibrahim Shehu, Overseer of the Information and Protocol division at the polytechnic, described the accreditation as a pivotal moment enabling the institution to broaden its admission capacity and provide enhanced technical and vocational education to a wider range of students.

The newly approved programmes are set to address emerging industry needs and provide students with specialised knowledge and practical skills in diverse fields of national interest, according to the statement.

"The accreditation underscores the commitment of the Polytechnic under the Rector, Engr Dr Mohammed Kabir Abdullahi, towards maintaining high standards in technical education. It will further help to produce skilled graduates who will effectively contribute to national development," the statement noted.

The approval enables Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic to significantly expand its course offerings, increasing opportunities for prospective students seeking technical and vocational education in Kaduna State.

The Board's decision reflects confidence in the polytechnic's infrastructure, staffing, and capacity to deliver quality education across the new programmes following the January inspection.

The institution can now proceed with admissions for the newly approved courses, expanding access to technical education for students in Kaduna and surrounding states.
