The National Youth Service Corps has announced that all foreign certificates must be cleared through the evaluation desk at the Federal Ministry of Education before graduates can be mobilised for the mandatory national service programme.

The directive appeared on the official Facebook page of the NYSC, emphasising that no foreign trained graduate will be mobilised for service without an official evaluation of their overseas qualification.

Prospective corps members wishing to participate in the forthcoming mobilisation exercise can access the NYSC online registration portal, which opened from 12th March this year.

"All foreign certificates must be cleared through the evaluation desk in Federal Ministry of Education before mobilisation for National Service," the notice stated.

The agency urged graduates to confirm that their names appear on the Senate or Academic Board approved lists uploaded by their institutions before attempting to register on the portal.

The requirement ensures that foreign qualifications meet Nigerian educational standards and are properly recognised by regulatory authorities before graduates proceed with their national service obligations.

Once registration closes, the scheme will issue call up letters and prepare corps members for orientation at designated camps nationwide.

The directive applies to all graduates who earned degrees, diplomas, or certificates from tertiary institutions outside Nigeria, regardless of the country or institution where the qualification was earned.
