Cross River State University (UNICROSS) application for hostel allocation has officially commenced for the 2025/2026 academic session. This process is for all students of the university who have an interest in living in the university hostel for the new academic session.

The allocation process will commence before the resumption date of the university to allow students to secure accommodation before they return to campus.

The portal for hostel allocation will officially open on Sunday, 19th October, 2025. The window for application will be open for all students, both fresh and returning students. Due to the limited available bedspace, the university will be adopting a first come, first serve allocation style. This means the first batch of students to apply will be attended to first before others.

How to Apply/Pay for UNICROSS Hostel Allocation 2025/2026 Academic Session

  • Visit portal.unicross.edu.ng

  • Log in using your username, password, and student payment code (SPC).

  • Navigate to accommodation on your student dashboard, look for the "Accommodation"

  • Click on "Apply for Hostel." The system will show you available bed spaces in specific halls

  • If a space is available, select it and click "Generate Invoice." This will produce a remita retrieval reference (RRR) specific to the hostel fee

  • You can pay immediately using your ATM card on the portal or take the RRR slip to any commercial bank to pay over the counter.

  • Once payment is successful, log back into the portal to confirm payment

  • Print your hostel payment receipt and allocation slip.

UNICROSS Hostel Rules and Regulations

  • Students must always carry their valid University Student Identity Card. You may be required to present it at the hostel entrance or during inspections.

  • Bullying, ragging, fighting, gambling, and any form of disruptive behaviour are strictly prohibited and attract severe disciplinary action, including potential expulsion from the hostel or the university.

  • The use of high power electrical appliances such as electric stoves, immersion heaters, kettles, and electric irons is strictly prohibited in rooms.

  • Smoking, consumption of alcohol, and the use of narcotic drugs within or around the hostel premises are strictly banned.

  • Possession of any form of weapon or dangerous object is prohibited.

  • Cooking is generally not permitted in the rooms. Students are expected to use the designated cafeteria or canteen facilities.

  • Squatting is a serious offence. Both the host and the unauthorised student risk losing their accommodation privileges.

  • Visitors are typically only allowed in designated visitor areas during approved hours. Overnight guests of the opposite gender are strictly prohibited in the dormitories.
