Adedeji Oyinkonsola Fidelia, a Microbiology student aspiring to study Medicine and Surgery, described the University of Ilorin's School of Preliminary Studies as providing a structured environment for effective learning.
"I wish to be a doctor. This remedial is okay because I feel better and have enough time to read. Attending lectures and studying together makes everything perfect for us," Fidelia explained.
Opeyemi Adeogun Ridwan, a student aspiring to study Political Science, praised the programme's structure, noting that the institution uses both JAMB and remedial results for assessment.
"The school has given us the best option by using our JAMB and remedial results. It is not stressful, and nothing should stop any student from excelling. I am hoping to cross to the next level; there should not be any reason for me not to pass my examination," Ridwan stated confidently.
Abdulsalam Abubakar Sudaisi, who hopes to study Mass Communication, described the programme as rewarding, noting the conducive school environment.
"The remedial programme has been wonderful. The school environment is okay, and with my little effort and God's support, I shall cross to the next level," Sudaisi revealed.
Hassan Shiyanbola, who intends to study Nursing Science and is currently in the Chemistry Department, expressed satisfaction with his decision to enrol in the programme.
"I feel very good, actually. The feeling is like I made a good decision. I just need to put in more effort. Even if I don't get admitted into UNILORIN, I am at least 80% sure I will gain admission into another university because the university has provided me good foundation," Shiyanbola stated.
Samuel Kemi Blessing, a Science student currently studying Biochemistry, highlighted the programme's benefits in preparing students for admission to Medicine and Surgery.
"The SPS is a good place. It helps us to study, build ourselves up, and prepare well for JAMB and admission into the University of Ilorin," Blessing noted.
Azeez Faishat Odunayo, who intends to study Linguistics, revealed that he has adapted positively over time despite initial reservations.
"At first, I was not happy about being here, but when I came, I started adapting and enjoying everything," Odunayo disclosed.
Students of the School of Preliminary Studies at the University of Ilorin described the programme as a veritable route towards achieving their academic aims and objectives, expressing confidence in their ability to excel.
