The management of the University of Education and Entrepreneurship (UEE), Akamkpa, has confirmed the receipt of N1,025,200 from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund. The disbursement was made to support eight students of the institution for the 2025/2026 academic session.
In a formal acknowledgement letter, the university authorities expressed appreciation for the funds, which represent the third batch of disbursement under the Students' Loan Programme.
"This amount was received on the 20th January 2026 and is well appreciated. Please accept the assurances of the Vice Chancellor’s esteem," the letter read in part.
Confirming the transaction on its official X handle, NELFUND highlighted the significance of the financial support. The agency stated that the move underscores its dedication to educational accessibility.
"This disbursement reflects NELFUND’s continued commitment to supporting access to quality education and ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder the academic aspirations of Nigerian students," the statement noted.
This development comes shortly after the Fund announced an extension of the application window for the 2025/2026 academic session. The extension was specifically designed to accommodate institutions that had formally requested additional time to enable their eligible students to complete the application process.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NELFUND, Akintunde Sawyerr, reiterated the commitment of the agency to the scheme. He assured stakeholders that the Fund would continue to work towards ensuring that qualified Nigerian students can access the loan scheme without hindrance.
