How to Calculate UNIZIK 2025/2026 Cut off and Screening Score

The Calculation Formula deployed by Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) is a collective record of both UTME scores and O'level results. The overall performance from these determines if a candidate beats the cut off mark and is qualified for admission or not.

Here is the formula application

A. RATIO: The ratio will be 70:30, i.e., 70% UTME score and 30% O’level subject score

70/100 = 0.7; 30/100 = 0.3

B. RANKING OF O’LEVEL RESULTS SCORES

O’level results will be ranked as follows:

A1 = 90, B2 = 80, B3 = 70, C4 = 60, C5 = 55, C6 = 50, D7, E8 and F9 = 0

Awaiting result (AR) = 0

The candidate should know that the O’level subjects written in the UTME examination will be used to calculate O'level points

E.g., for a candidate who sat for English, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry in UTME, the grades obtained in the candidate O’level results in these subjects will be used to calculate the O’level points obtained.

C. BONUS: A candidate who credits four O’level subjects in a single sitting will be awarded a bonus of 10 points (i.e., Bonus = 10).

A candidate who credited his four O’level subjects in two sittings will get no bonus (i.e., Bonus = 0).

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Are there any alternatives to gaining admission if you failed to beat the cut off mark?
A. The only alternative is moving into a less competitive course that your score fits in.

Q. What happens if you don't beat the cut off mark?
A. Traditionally, in all Nigerian Universities, failure to beat the cut off mark means no admission.

Q. What about Candidates with awaiting results?
A. O'level result plays a key role in determining if any candidates beat the cut off, so it is compulsory to upload your result.

Q. Can I apply for admission if I score below 160?
A. No, the minimum score to be eligible for admission is 160; it also varies based on the department.

Q. Does meeting the cut off mark guarantee admission?
A. Admission would be determined based on the performance of candidates and the number each department is allowed to accept.

Q. What is the minimum cut off mark to qualify for UNIZIK Post UTME?
A. The minimum cut off mark is 160, but for competitive courses, it requires more.
