Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, has continued to deepen his administration's investment in education, commissioning a multi million naira facility that includes a Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Zonal Headquarters and a 500 seat Computer Based Test (CBT) Centre.

The facility, located along the Maiduguri Dikwa Road, is expected to serve as JAMB's North East Zonal Office, providing administrative and examination services to the region's six states, and includes a modern office complex alongside a dual CBT Centre capable of accommodating 500 candidates simultaneously and processing more than 2,000 candidates daily.

Commissioning the project, Zulum described it as part of his administration's broader strategy to rebuild education in a region that has suffered years of insurgency and disruption to learning, noting that the intervention was designed to strengthen educational infrastructure and reduce the burden on candidates seeking admission into tertiary institutions.

The Governor explained that the facility represents Borno State's contribution to enhancing national education service delivery while positioning the North East as a hub for computer based examinations. He directed the Borno State Ministry of Education to name the facility after outgoing JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, as a gesture recognising his contributions to educational development in Nigeria.

JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, described the project as an unprecedented intervention, revealing that it is believed to be the first time a State Government has independently built and donated a Zonal Office and CBT Centre to the Board. He disclosed that what began as an ambitious proposal became a reality within four months, a timeline he attributed to Zulum's leadership and commitment to education.

Oloyede added that the integrated registration facilities would allow the Board to complete registration and documentation for applicants from Borno State within a few days, cutting down delays and travel burdens for candidates.

The event was attended by the Secretary to the Borno State Government, Bukar Tijani; incoming JAMB Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina; Acting Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr Babagana Mustapha Malumbe; Commissioner for Education, Engr. Lawan Abba Wakilbe; and other senior Government officials.

The commissioning forms part of the Zulum administration's continued post insurgency recovery efforts, which have prioritised investment in schools, tertiary institutions and educational infrastructure across Borno State.
