Beforehand, you should also recognise that the university hostel is allocated based on a first come, first serve criteria to all students. Meaning if you are not online the second it opens, you will likely be looking for a lodge off campus.
The process of getting a hostel is easy. First, pay your school fees, which qualify you to join other students to struggle for allocation. The process is completely done online, so there will be no need to visit any office in the university.

AEFUNAI Hostel Allocation 2025/2026 Academic Session
For the 2025/2026 academic session, AEFUNAI hostel allocation portal will open for returning students from October 1st and will run till October 16th, 2025. The portal for newly admitted students will open from the 20th of October 2025, which is also the resumption day.
All returning students must make the hostel payment of 62,000 Naira, which is the hostel fee, before 11:59 PM, October 16th, 2025, or lose their allocation.
However, only students who have completed their fee payment will be allowed to take part and also live in the university hostel.
How to Pay AEFUNAI Hostel Fee
Visit hostel.funai.edu.ng
Log in with your JAMB registration number (for freshmen) or matriculation number (for returning students) and your password.
Navigate to the hostel menu
Select the 2025/2026 Session
Click on generate hostel invoice to create an RRR number
Make payment by visiting any commercial bank or paying online using an ATM card
After payment, log back into the portal.
Click verify payment
Print your receipt.
Note: Your receipt will contain your allocated hostel details (Hostel Name and Room Number).

AEFUNAI Hostels Rules and Regulations
Electric cookers, hot plates, gas cylinders, and immersion heaters are prohibited in the hostel.
Alcohol, cigarettes, and any form of hard drugs are not to be seen anywhere near the hostel.
Visitors are strictly forbidden from staying overnight. A heavy fine of 50,000 Naira or eviction is the standard penalty.
Squatting fellow student who has not officially paid for a bed space is a major offence. Both the host and the squatter can be evicted or suspended.
Generally, male students are not allowed into the female hostel rooms, and vice versa. Meetings are usually restricted to common areas.
Hostels usually have a curfew. Students are expected to be back in the hostel by 9:00 PM, and gates typically do not open until 6:00 AM.
