The Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny, has announced a set of senior administrative and academic appointments, with the institution's Rector, Dr Victor Okolobah, naming new Deputy Rectors and Directors across key operational units.
The newly appointed Deputy Rector for Academics is Dr Akos Noel, while Dr Adebola Obasan takes charge as Deputy Rector for Administration. Six directorial positions have also been filled, with Stanley Iheanacho appointed as Director of Academic Planning, Dr Gegele Olarewaju as Director of the National Education Loan Fund, Dr Audu Nasiru as Director of the Centre for Vocational, Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship, and Dr Kalapapa Dappa as Director of Open Distance and Flexible eLearning.
The institution stated that the appointees were selected based on their professional experience, subject knowledge, and track records in their respective fields. Management described the appointments as a strategic step towards aligning organisational effectiveness with the polytechnic's institutional objectives and long term development agenda.
The Rector's administration indicated that the placements were designed to ensure that leadership roles were occupied by individuals with the precise expertise required to drive the institution's growth, improve resource management, and support its ongoing transition into a more competitive technical institution.
The polytechnic expressed confidence in the capacity of the new appointees to deliver on their mandates and contribute meaningfully to the institution's academic and structural advancement.
