The Students' Union Government of Federal University Wukari, Taraba State, has summoned all students to an emergency meeting with Vice Chancellor Professor Benjamin Ate Kefas, scheduled to hold on Friday, 26th June 2026, at 4:00 PM at the University's Convocation Square.

A notice issued by the SUG on Wednesday, 25th June, and signed jointly by the Union President, Comr. Mathias Ureriman, and General Secretary, Comr. Useni Nuhu directed all students to attend without fail, stating that the Vice Chancellor would address the student body on important matters affecting the University community.

The notice did not specify the agenda for the meeting, but the urgency of the summons and the short notice window drew attention across the student body.

Professor Benjamin Ate Kefas was appointed Vice Chancellor of Federal University Wukari by the Governing Council following a period of significant institutional turbulence. The process of appointing a new Vice Chancellor had been thrown into crisis in late 2025 after sharp disagreements emerged between the Governing Council, University management, and other stakeholders, with the Pro Chancellor directing the suspension of the selection process in a letter dated 17th December 2025.

Federal University Wukari was established in 2011 by the Federal Government under then President Goodluck Jonathan, as one of nine Universities set up at the time. It is located along Katsina Ala Road in Wukari, Taraba State, and comprises six Faculties with 25 Departments.

The SUG urged all students to be present at the Convocation Square at the stated time, emphasising that the engagement was of significant importance to the student community.
