The management of Gombe State University has officially announced the scheduling of its 26th Inaugural Lecture, continuing the Institution's tradition of presenting pioneering academic research to address critical national issues. The event, which is open to the academic community, students, and the general public, will focus on religious harmony and national unity.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta, announced the details of the lecture on behalf of the University's Council, Senate, and Management. This upcoming session in the ongoing lecture series is designed to serve as a platform for senior academics to present their scholarly findings and offer practical solutions to contemporary societal challenges facing the country.

The 26th lecture will be delivered by Professor Safiyanu Ishiaku, a Professor of Islamic Thought and Modern Development from the Department of Islamic Studies under the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Professor Ishiaku, who holds degrees from the University of Maiduguri, Bayero University Kano, and the International University of Africa in Khartoum, Sudan, will speak on the topic: "Islamic Principles of Tolerance Toward Non Muslims: A Panacea to Peaceful Coexistence in Multi Religious Nigeria."

The academic event is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 4:15 pm. The university management has designated the Haruna Kadir Rashid Hall on the school campus in Gombe as the physical venue for the presentation.

To accommodate off campus participants, international scholars, and interested members of the public who cannot attend physically, the University is providing virtual access.
