Igbinedion University Admission Requirements

Candidates applying for admission must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum of five O Level credit passes

  • English Language and Mathematics are compulsory

  • Results must not be more than two sittings

  • Accepted exams include WAEC, NECO, GCE, and NABTEB

  • Law applicants must have a credit pass in Literature in English

  • Candidates awaiting results can also apply

Applicants must also show proof of JAMB registration before admission can be processed.

Direct Entry Admission Requirements

Direct Entry candidates can apply for admission into 200 Level for eligible programmes.

Accepted qualifications include:

  • A Level passes

  • IJMB

  • NCE

  • Diploma certificates

  • First degree in related courses

Candidates must also meet the required O Level conditions.

Please note that Direct Entry admission is not available for:

  • Medicine and Surgery

  • Nursing Science

  • Medical Laboratory Science

  • Pharmacy

  • Law

UTME Requirement

Candidates seeking admission through UTME must:

  • Sit for the 2026 UTME

  • Meet the approved JAMB cut off mark

  • Choose Igbinedion University as preferred institution

Age Requirement

Candidates above 22 years old may not qualify for admission except under special conditions approved by the university.

Rules for Transfer Students

Transfer candidates are required to submit:

  • Official academic transcript

  • JAMB transfer form signed by their current university

Post UTME Screening Process

Follow the steps below to complete the Igbinedion University Post UTME or Direct Entry application successfully.

  1. Visit https://iuokada.edu.ng/admission/

  2. Create a valid email address before starting the application process. This email will be used for important updates and login details.

  3. Carefully read all application instructions on the portal before proceeding.

  4. Click on Register for Application at the top left corner of the page.

  5. Enter your:

    • First name

    • Middle name

    • Surname

    • Email address

    • Phone number

  6. Check your email immediately after registration. Your application ID and password will be sent to the email address provided.

  7. Click the link sent to your email to continue the registration process.

  8. Return to the application portal and click Login at the top right corner of the homepage.

  9. Enter your username and password to log in.

  10. Click on Application Record to begin filling the application form.

  11. Provide all required personal and academic details carefully.

  12. Upload a recent and clear coloured passport photograph. The passport photograph must:

  • Be coloured

  • Be recent

  • Be passport size

  1. Note that the uploaded passport photograph will serve as your official student identity throughout your stay at Igbinedion University if admitted.

  2. Proceed to payment of the application fee.

  3. To pay online:

  • Click Add Online Payment Ticket at the bottom of the page

  • Select either Interswitch or Etranzact

  • Follow the payment instructions

  • Use a valid ATM card from any commercial bank in Nigeria

  1. Candidates can also pay through Bank Draft payable to Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State

  2. Review and confirm all entered information carefully before final submission.

  3. Submit the completed application form online.
