The management of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere Ekiti has announced a major academic milestone following the official approval of 33 postgraduate programmes by national regulatory authorities. The specialized tracks, which span various disciplines including the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences, are scheduled to commence operational enrollment starting from the 2026/2027 academic session.
The formal communication, dated June 15, 2026, was dispatched by the Director of Academic Planning at the commission, Abubakar Girei. This development follows a comprehensive resource verification exercise conducted by the regulatory inspectors to evaluate the institutional readiness, infrastructural capacity, and instructional standards of the facility.
The newly accredited academic listings cover Postgraduate Diploma, Master's, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. In the fields of management and social sciences, the commission approved programs in Accounting, Business Administration, Office and Information Management, Entrepreneurship, Economics, Development Studies, Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution, Political Science, International Relations, and a Master of Public Administration.
For arts, science, and technology sectors, the approved courses encompass Architecture, Music, Theatre Arts, Mass Communication, Computer Science, Environmental Management, Microbiology, Industrial Chemistry, Plant Science and Biotechnology, Physics, and Food Science and Technology. Furthermore, the institution secured extensive clearances across its education department, covering English Language Education, Educational Management, Test and Measurement, Guidance and Counselling, Social Studies Education, Biology Education, Chemistry Education, Physics Education, Mathematics Education, Integrated Science, Human Kinetics Sports Management, and Health Education.
Reacting to the successful resource review, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Andrew Babatunde Omojola, described the development as a landmark achievement that positions the university as an emerging center for advanced research and corporate capacity building. The administrative head commended the dedication of the university senate, technical staff, and local stakeholders who coordinated the regulatory assessment procedures.
The Vice Chancellor also extended appreciation to the state leadership and institutional visitor, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, alongside the governing council, for prioritizing structural investments. Prospective applicants were assured that the upcoming admission portals would maintain strict adherence to international teaching benchmarks and rigorous project supervision metrics.
