LASU hotel allocation does not just come with the needed personal comfort, but also with nearness to campus and a chance to get the real university experience.

The 2025/2026 hostel allocation portal for Lagos State University will open for students to apply from the 5th of September 2025 and will run until the 6th of October 2025, which also happens to be the resumption date of students.

Due to the limited slots available for students, the university introduced a first come, first served system, where the first batch of students who apply will be attended to and allocated their space before considering others.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Can freshers apply immediately?
A. No, Freshers can only apply for hostel accommodation after they have received their official admission offer and completed their biodata registration. A specific quota of bed spaces is usually reserved for 100 level and direct entry students to ensure they aren't crowded out by returning students.

Q. How long do I have to pay after being allocated a space?
A. Once the system assigns you a bed space, you must generate your RRR and make the payment. You generally have 24 to 48 hours to complete this. If you fail to pay within this window, the system automatically revokes the allocation and makes the space available to other students.

Q. Is the hostel fee refundable if I change my mind?
A. LASU has a strict refund policy. Most successful payments are non refundable. According to official guidelines, any approved refund request must be directed in writing to the Vice Chancellor within one week of payment and will attract a 20% administrative charge.

Q. What documents do I need for check in?
A. When reporting to your assigned hostel, you must present:

  • Official receipt of payment for the hostel.

  • The printed bed space allocation slip.

  • One recent passport photograph.

Q. Can I swap my room with another student?
A. Official room swapping is generally not permitted through the online portal. Any arrangement made privately between students without the approval of the Hall Warden is considered a violation of residency rules and can lead to eviction.

Q. Can I stay in the hostel during the holidays?
A. Usually, students must vacate the hostels at the end of the session. Staying over the long break requires special permission from the dean of student affairs.

Q. Is there a dress code in the hostel?
A. Yes, Indecent dressing (transparent, skimpy, or saggy clothes) is prohibited even within the hostel common areas.

Q. Does the fee cover both semesters?
A. Yes, the payment covers the entire academic session (first and second semesters).
