After registration, you should collect:
Your NECO examination timetable.
At least one clear copy of your NECO Photocard.
The Referee's Attestation section on the Photocard must be signed and stamped by any of the following:
Principal of a recognised secondary school.
Ordained clergyman or Chief Imam.
Commissioned officer of the Nigerian Armed Forces or Police not below the rank of Captain or its equivalent.
Senior Civil Servant not below Grade Level 14.
Legal practitioner with at least ten years of experience.
You are not required to submit the Photocard to any NECO State Office for stamping.
Candidates with Special Needs
Candidates with special needs should register normally.
However, they must correctly indicate the nature of their disability or special need while completing their online biodata.
Examination Centres
NECO groups examination centres into neighbourhoods within each state.
When registering, select the neighbourhood where you intend to write the examination.
You should also reprint your Photocard at least two weeks before the examination to confirm your examination centre.
Mock Examination
NECO will organise a mock examination for interested candidates.
The Council will announce the date before the commencement of the main examination.
Important Guidelines
Before completing your registration, note the following:
Registration fees are non refundable.
Biometric verification will be conducted during the examination.
Candidates with mismatched fingerprints or passport photographs will be treated as impersonators.
Multiple registration is prohibited and may lead to cancellation of all results.
Examination neighbourhoods cannot be changed after registration.
Only one correction of registration details is allowed before the examination begins.
Complete change of name is not permitted.
Only one name component or passport photograph can be corrected before the examination.
Smoking and possession of prohibited electronic devices such as mobile phones, smart watches, tablets, programmable calculators and similar gadgets are not allowed in the examination hall.
Candidates should dress in plain clothes (mufti).
You must arrive at the examination venue at least 30 minutes before the examination starts.
No candidate will be admitted after the examination has commenced.
