The newly appointed Vice Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, Prof Tomola Obamuyi, has pledged to tackle the Institution's infrastructural challenges through innovative and sustainable funding strategies.

Obamuyi disclosed this on Thursday while speaking with reporters after a two day inspection of facilities across the University campus, stating that his administration remains committed to improving existing infrastructure while implementing practical solutions to the Institution's challenges.

"Our administration is now focused on providing practical solutions to the institution's challenges. Having gone round, my impressions are good, but we need to improve on what we have on the ground. As I mentioned some time ago, my leaving the university was a period of preparation, and my coming is the solution to the challenges that we have here," he stated.

The Vice Chancellor, who assumed office last week following his appointment by Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, noted that he had already engaged principal officers, heads of department and other stakeholders to outline his vision for the Institution and chart a new course for its development.

Obamuyi disclosed that he had directed relevant units to address identified areas of concern, setting deadlines for their execution.

"I have directed all concerned units, and I have given them deadlines. When I give instructions, I monitor them. We are going to be seeing some changes very soon," he added.

He expressed confidence that the measures introduced under his administration would begin to yield visible improvements in the University's infrastructure and overall administration in the coming weeks.
