Osun State Polytechnic, Iree has announced a detailed line up of activities for its 2026 Convocation Ceremony, alongside major academic and Institutional updates, following a press briefing held on March 23, 2026, at the ETF Hall of the institution.

Speaking at the event, the Rector, Alhaji Kehinde Adeyemi Alabi, confirmed that the main Convocation Ceremony will take place on Thursday, March 26, where graduates from several academic sessions will receive diplomas and awards. He described the occasion as a “moment of consolidation,” highlighting efforts to sustain academic progress while recognising Student achievement.

Activities will commence on March 25 with a Convocation Lecture to be delivered by a Professor of Business Administration from the Federal University, Oye Ekiti. The lecture will be followed by a reception at the Staff Club, while a football match involving Staff and Alumni has also been scheduled. An official said, “This year’s Programme is structured to reflect both academic excellence and community spirit.”

The Rector also announced the introduction of Artificial Intelligence as a compulsory general course for all students. He stated, “We are aligning our curriculum with global realities. No student should leave here without an understanding of AI and its relevance.”

Students who spoke welcomed the development. One said, “It’s a bold move. AI is already shaping industries, so this will help us stay relevant.” Another added, “It shows the school is thinking ahead and preparing us for the modern workplace.”

Alabi further confirmed that all Programmes remain accredited by the National Board for Technical Education, while improvements have been made in infrastructure, digital learning, and Staff development. He also noted ongoing collaborations with the University of Ilorin and Nnamdi Azikiwe University, as well as support from the Osun State Government under Ademola Adeleke.

He concluded by announcing plans to make the Convocation Ceremony an annual event from 2027.
