The management of Osun State University on Thursday formally presented the instrument of appointment to Mrs Victoria Samson, Group Managing Director of BOVAS and Company Ltd, confirming her role as the institution's new Chancellor.

The presentation took place in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, where the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Odunayo Adeboye, handed over the letter on behalf of the Osun State Government and the university's Governing Council.

The appointment letter, signed by Governor Ademola Adeleke, stated that Samson's tenure took effect on 10 May 2026 for an initial term of five years and was granted in recognition of her accomplishments in business leadership, service to humanity, and contributions to national development.

Adeboye noted that as Chancellor, Samson would serve as the ceremonial head of the university and provide moral, strategic, and inspirational support toward achieving the Institution's vision. He added that the university would announce the date for her formal investiture soon.

"The Institution and the state government are optimistic that Mama Samson's leadership and experience would further strengthen the university's global relevance and academic advancement," Adeboye stated.

The Vice Chancellor commended Governor Adeleke for allowing merit and competence to guide appointments, noting that the Governor had consistently encouraged the University to appoint individuals capable of contributing meaningfully to the Institution's growth, free from political interference.

Samson, responding to the presentation, described the appointment as an honour and pledged her support for the University's continued growth.

"I thank the Governor, the governing council, and the University management for this honour. I appreciate the confidence reposed in me," she said.
