Professor Kabiru Olawale Paramole of the Department of Religions and Peace Studies has been elected Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Lagos State University following a keenly contested election held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the New TETFund Postgraduate Hall 1, LASU Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos.
Paramole secured 51 votes to defeat Professor Isaac Adeniyi Yekini Ajenifuja of the Department of Music, who polled 47 votes. Three votes were declared void from a total of 101 votes cast.
Deputy Registrar and Returning Officer Samuel Gbedozin announced the result and declared Paramole duly elected as Dean designate of the Faculty of Arts.
The outgoing Dean, Professor Ayo Ayodele, whose tenure concludes on Friday, July 31, 2026, congratulated Paramole on his election and expressed confidence that his leadership would further the academic excellence and overall development of the faculty.
Paramole is scheduled to assume office on Saturday, August 1, 2026, taking charge of one of the university's established faculties at LASU's main campus in Ojo, Lagos.
