UNIUYO Admission Requirements 2025/2026
Gaining admission into the University of Uyo requires candidates to meet specific academic and admission requirements set by the institution for the 2025/2026 academic session.
These requirements are important for candidates seeking admission through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) as well as Direct Entry.
General Admission Requirements for UNIUYO 2025/2026
All candidates seeking admission into the University of Uyo must have chosen the university as their first choice institution during the UTME registration.
Candidates who did not initially choose UNIUYO may still be considered if they complete a change of institution through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board before the admission process closes.
Applicants are also expected to score at least the minimum UTME cut off mark approved by the university for the 2025/2026 academic session.
However, meeting the general cut off mark does not guarantee admission, as some departments may require higher scores depending on the competitiveness of the course.
In addition, candidates must participate in the university’s Post UTME screening exercise and provide accurate information during registration.
O-Level Requirements for UNIUYO Admission
Candidates applying for admission into the University of Uyo must possess at least five credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.
These credits must be obtained from recognised examination bodies such as:
West African Examinations Council (WAEC)
National Examinations Council (NECO)
National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB)
Candidates should ensure that the O-Level subjects match the requirements for their chosen course of study. Incorrect subject combinations may affect admission chances.
UTME Requirements for UNIUYO Admission
For UTME candidates, admission into the University of Uyo is based on:
A valid UTME score that meets the university’s cut off mark
Correct UTME subject combination for the chosen course
Participation in the UNIUYO Post UTME screening
Candidates must ensure that the four UTME subjects selected during JAMB registration align with the requirements for their intended programme. Failure to meet the correct UTME subject combination may lead to disqualification.
Direct Entry Requirements for UNIUYO Admission
Candidates applying through Direct Entry into the University of Uyo must possess one of the following qualifications:
OND with good grades
NCE with merit or above
HND
A-Level results
JUPEB/IJMB certificates
Direct Entry applicants must also satisfy the O-Level requirements and obtain the Direct Entry form through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.
Meeting the Direct Entry qualifications does not automatically guarantee admission, as each department may have additional screening criteria.
