Venite University has received a five year full accreditation from the National Universities Commission for its Bachelor of Nursing Science programme, a status that allows the Institution to continue offering the course under NUC's highest approval tier.

The accreditation followed an exercise conducted by the Commission in May 2026, during which the University recorded a cumulative score of 82.80%. Approval was formally conveyed in a letter dated 13 July 2026.

The programme, run under the University's College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, is designed to equip students with clinical experience and professional skills aligned with global healthcare training standards, positioning graduates to compete for opportunities both within Nigeria and internationally.

Vice Chancellor, Prof Charity Aremu, described the accreditation as validation of the Institution's investment in teaching facilities and quality assurance mechanisms within its nursing programme.

She noted that the outcome reflects sustained efforts to build an environment where students acquire the practical competence required to function in the healthcare sector, adding that the University intends to strengthen its academic offerings further in response to Nigeria's growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals.

Aremu credited the Provost of the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, the Head of the Nursing Science Programme, and members of the University's accreditation committees for their role in securing the outcome, while also acknowledging the Governing Council's support throughout the process.

With admissions currently ongoing for the 2026/2027 academic session, the University stated that the accreditation is expected to strengthen prospective students' confidence in the quality of its nursing training.

The Institution linked its nursing programme to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG 3 on Good Health and Well Being and SDG 4 on Quality Education, framing the accreditation as a contribution to expanding access to quality healthcare education and strengthening Nigeria's nursing workforce.
