The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has released the results of candidates who sat the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination on Monday, 20 April, continuing its daily batch release process since the exercise commenced on Thursday, 16 April 2026.
Dr Fabian Benjamin, the board's spokesperson, confirmed the development in a statement on Tuesday, directing candidates to access their scores by sending UTMERESULT via SMS to 55019 or 66019, using the phone number with which they registered for the examination.
"The results for Monday, 20th, have been released. Candidates can view their results using the usual process," the statement read.
Monday's release follows a combined batch published on Sunday, 19 April, covering candidates who sat the examination on Friday, 17 April and Saturday, 18 April. That release attracted attention after it came later than candidates had anticipated. JAMB had initially indicated the results would be available on Saturday but failed to meet that timeline, drawing frustration from candidates who waited through the night.
The board subsequently apologised for the delay, attributing it to the absence of its chief executive, who was engaged in an official commitment at the time.
The 2026 UTME, which commenced on Thursday, 16 April, involves 2,000,000 candidates sitting computer based tests across centres nationwide. Results have been published in batches corresponding to each examination day, with the board releasing Thursday's results first before proceeding with subsequent batches.
Benjamin had earlier stated that additional results would continue to be made available as the examination progresses, maintaining the board's position that result printing remains unavailable at this stage.
The examination body has also warned candidates against manipulating SMS results to fabricate or alter scores, describing such conduct as a serious criminal offence. Two candidates and one parent were previously taken into custody for result falsification using artificial intelligence and other electronic means.
