A University in Kogi State has expelled four students and rusticated one other following a disciplinary process that culminated in approvals at the institution's 30th Regular Senate Meeting held on April 29, 2026.

Confluence University of Science and Technology in Osara sanctioned the students after investigations conducted by its Students Disciplinary Committee. The penalties, communicated through separate letters signed by the Deputy Registrar, Academic Affairs, Mr Eli Usman Gbadafu, covered offences ranging from alleged lesbianism and physical assault to cyber related misconduct.

Two female students bore the harshest consequences for the same offence. Ezekiel Precious Omeneke, a 200 level Economics student, and Aku Joy Chinyere, a 200 level Accounting student, were both expelled over alleged involvement in lesbianism.

A third expulsion involved Musa Abdulhakeem Onimisi, a 200 level Petroleum and Gas Engineering student, who was dismissed for allegedly assaulting and stabbing a fellow student. The fourth student expelled was Dominion Kolade A., a 200 level Physiotherapy student, found to have allegedly cloned and circulated photographs of two female students without their consent.

In a separate but related ruling, Agbakaru Kosikochukwu, a 200 level Radiography student, was rusticated for one academic session following findings related to fighting and physical assault.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof Abdulrahman Salawu, commended the disciplinary committee, describing its investigation process as thorough and fair. He reaffirmed the university's commitment to producing graduates distinguished not only by academic excellence but also by good character and discipline.

University management framed the sanctions as part of broader Institutional efforts to maintain discipline, uphold moral standards, and protect the learning environment. Students were further warned against conduct capable of jeopardising their academic future, with authorities stressing that rules and regulations would be enforced without compromise.
