All 13 academic programmes at Muhammad Kamaluddeen University, Ilorin, Kwara State, have received full accreditation from the National Universities Commission, less than three years after the Institution began operations.
The Pioneer Vice Chancellor, Prof. Rasheed Jimoh, stated that the accreditation exercise, conducted in November 2025, produced a 100% success rate across every submitted programme.
"In November 2025, 13 programmes were subjected to accreditation by the National Universities Commission, and I am pleased to state that all 13 programmes passed the exercise, representing a 100% success rate," he said.
Jimoh disclosed that the Faculty of Humanities, Management and Social Sciences received accreditation for the B.A. Arabic Language, B.A. English, B.A. History and International Studies, B.A. Islamic Studies, B.Sc. Accounting, B.Sc. Business Administration and B.Sc. Economics.
The Faculty of Science, Computing and Information Technology also secured accreditation for B.Sc. Chemistry, B.Sc. Physics with Electronics, B.Sc. Plant Science and Biotechnology, B.Sc. Computer Science, B.Sc. Cybersecurity and B.Sc. Software Engineering.
"Each of these programmes underwent rigorous evaluation and was found to have satisfied the required standards in both academic delivery and infrastructural provisions," he noted.
Jimoh revealed that the accreditation clears the university for full participation in the National Youth Service Corps scheme.
"The implication is that the university has successfully crossed all regulatory hurdles, including those required for NYSC mobilisation, and our graduates will not face any limitations," he stated.
The vice chancellor also confirmed that the Institution recently underwent an institutional accreditation exercise by the NUC between April 20 and 22, 2026, aimed at upgrading from a provisional to a full operational licence.
"The exercise was completed, and we received commendations from the evaluation team on our facilities, governance structure and quality of academic delivery," he added.
Jimoh noted that among Universities licensed in 2023, Muhammad Kamaluddeen University is the only institution to have achieved programme accreditation at this stage.
"It is a matter of focus. From the moment we commenced academic activities, we started preparing to meet NUC accreditation requirements, learning from the challenges faced by other Institutions," he said.
He also reaffirmed plans to expand academic programmes and strengthen global collaborations going forward.
