Eighty members of the National Youth Service Corps have received Certificates of Meritorious Service from the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency for their work educating residents on consumer rights across Lagos State.
The certificates were presented by LASCOPA General Manager Afolabi Solebo at a ceremony held at the NYSC Secretariat in Lagos. Solebo described the corps members' contributions as significant, noting that their activities had helped strengthen consumer awareness and protection across the state.
The honoured corps members served under the Consumer Protection Community Development Service group, where they were involved in disseminating information and engaging communities on issues relating to consumer rights and protection, forming a key part of LASCOPA's outreach efforts.
Solebo commended the corps members for their dedication, consistency, and commitment to service throughout their posting, stating that their impact on public sensitisation had been felt across multiple communities in the state.
LASCOPA reaffirmed its commitment to supporting public awareness initiatives and encouraged continued collaboration with youth driven programmes, specifically recognising the NYSC as a vehicle for advancing civic education and community development in Lagos.
The ceremony marks the recognition of the first batch of CDS members from the group, suggesting further batches may receive similar commendation as the programme progresses.
