Content creator and activist Mr Macaroni has teamed up with TechCrush to launch a fully funded scholarship programme offering 100 young Nigerians free access to structured training in high demand digital skills.
Applications opened on April 30 and closed on May 2, giving prospective candidates a narrow window to apply for one of 100 available slots across five fields: artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, product design, and software development.
Selected participants will attend live, instructor led classes and complete capstone projects designed to build hands on experience applicable to real world tech roles. The programme also incorporates mentorship sessions, career support, and access to a professional network within the technology sector.
Upon completion, beneficiaries will receive internationally recognised certification and earn the opportunity to participate in a buildathon, a practical assessment designed to test acquired skills in competitive scenarios.
One of the more distinctive features of the scholarship is the inclusion of data stipends for selected candidates. This provision directly addresses one of the most persistent barriers to online learning for young Nigerians.
The collaboration reflects a broader shift toward private sector driven interventions in digital education, particularly as demand for technology skills continues to rise across global job markets. For many applicants, the programme represents an accessible entry point into a sector that has increasingly shaped career opportunities on the continent.
Interested candidates are advised to complete their applications before the May 2 deadline.
