Twenty two undergraduate programmes at Adeleke University, Ede, have received full accreditation from the National Universities Commission following the commission's October/December 2025 accreditation exercise, the institution's management announced on Wednesday.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof Solomon Adebola, conveyed the development to the university community at a recent meeting, noting that the approval was formally communicated through a letter signed by the Director of Accreditation, Abraham Chundusu, on behalf of the NUC Executive Secretary.
Adebola attributed the successful outcome to a thorough evaluation of the institution's infrastructure and academic capacity. "The accreditation followed a series of comprehensive human and facility assessments carried out by the NUC team during the exercise. It serves as a validation of our efforts to provide a world class learning environment," he stated.
The accredited programmes span a broad range of disciplines. In the humanities and social sciences, approvals were granted for Finance, Office and Information Management, Public Administration, English Language and Literary Studies, Religious Studies, History and International Studies, Mass Communication, and Nursing Science.
The university's technology and computing offerings also gained full accreditation, covering Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Systems, Information Technology, and Software Engineering. Engineering disciplines including Chemical, Civil, and Computer Engineering were similarly approved, as were Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, and Food Science and Nutrition.
The Vice Chancellor further disclosed that the accreditation status is valid for five years. "The accreditation is valid for a period of five years," Adebola confirmed.
Beyond the 22 programmes, management noted the recent approval of two professional courses: the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and the Doctor of Pharmacy programmes, in the Faculties of Health Sciences and Pharmacy respectively.
Adebola used the occasion to recognise the contributions of staff across the institution. "I must commend our members of staff for their dedication and commitment to the institution's pursuit of academic excellence. This achievement is firmly enshrined in our motto: Education, Excellence, and Character," he remarked.
