A Nigerian Researcher has secured a formal appointment on one of the world's largest open science platforms, the latest in a pattern of Nigerian scholars breaking into international academic circles on the strength of verified research output.

Max Nwabueze Amuchie, a media executive and researcher, has been designated an Expert Member and Peer Reviewer in Social and Behavioural Sciences by ScienceOpen, a Berlin based platform hosting more than 85 million research records. The appointment was based entirely on his ORCID publication record and indexed scholarly contributions, with no honorary element attached.

ScienceOpen only confers the designation on scholars with verified peer reviewed publication histories, which means Amuchie cleared a measurable academic bar to earn the role. He can now conduct post publication peer reviews, curate scholarly collections, and participate in academic commentary on the platform.

The recognition sits alongside a 14 part macro theoretical research portfolio that includes the Insecurity Triad, the Trinity of State Decay, and the Decoupling Sovereignty Index frameworks, all indexed on the platform.

Nigeria has seen a steady rise in scholars gaining international footing in recent years, with researchers, academics, and intellectuals earning appointments, fellowships, and recognition from global institutions across science, humanities, and policy. Amuchie's case reflects what consistent, documented research output can produce for Nigerian scholars operating outside Traditional Academic Institutions.

His appointment is a reminder that international academic recognition is not reserved for those inside University walls. Amuchie holds his primary role as Chief Executive Officer of Sundiata Post Media Ltd, where he also leads an internal research and strategic studies unit.
