Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ago Iwoye, Ogun State, has taken delivery of a 2,400 square metre modern administrative complex from the Oba Otudeko Foundation, the social impact arm of Honeywell Group, in a move aimed at reinforcing the institution's operational and governance capacity.

The facility, now operational at the university's main campus, consolidates key administrative units under one structure, with the foundation describing the intervention as a deliberate investment in institutional resilience rather than a symbolic gesture.

Spokesperson Yewande Giwa framed the project within the foundation's broader philosophy on educational development. "The foundation recognises that educational excellence depends on the strength of the systems and structures that support teaching, learning, and research. This administrative building reflects our belief that a great university is powered not only by its academic output, but also by the quality of its governance, coordination, and student facing services," she noted.

Giwa added that the complex advances the foundation's twin pillars of education and entrepreneurship. "By reinforcing the institutional framework that enables innovation and effective learning, we are advancing our pillars of education and entrepreneurship, and strengthening systems that will shape future leaders, build resilient enterprises, and drive sustainable progress for years to come," she stated.

Pro Chancellor and Chairman of the OOU Governing Council, Prof Toyin Ashiru, described the building as a response to one of the university's most pressing infrastructure challenges. "The Oba Otudeko Administrative Building stands as both a functional and symbolic milestone in our institutional journey. It directly addresses one of our most pressing challenges, the shortage of adequate office space, while enhancing operational efficiency, staff productivity, and service delivery to our students and stakeholders. Dr Oba Otudeko's longstanding commitment to education continues to create meaningful impact, reinforcing a legacy that has supported the progress of this University for decades," he remarked.

The complex forms part of a wider education investment portfolio led by Honeywell Group Chairman Dr Oba Otudeko, which includes the Honeywell Auditorium at Lagos Business School, West Africa's first AACSB accredited business school. The group also runs the Honeywell Excellence Programme, targeted at equipping fresh graduates with practical business and leadership skills.
