The Alumni Association of Tai Solarin University of Education has pledged full collaboration with the Institution's newly appointed vice chancellor, Prof Samuel Oladipo, vowing to deploy the influence and membership base of the association to advance the university's academic standing.

The association's National President, Bolaji Oladeji, conveyed the position in a statement issued on Tuesday and made available to journalists, describing Prof Oladipo's appointment as timely and marking a new chapter for the institution.

The Governing Council of Tai Solarin University of Education announced the appointment on April 21, 2026, following a four month selection process. Prof Oladipo becomes the 6th substantive vice chancellor and the 3rd indigenous holder of the office at the university, which is regarded as the premier university of education in Nigeria.

He had previously served as Director of Research and External Relations and Dean of the College of Specialized and Professional Education before his elevation.

In the statement, the association noted: "We are particularly excited that our new VC is a man of innovation and proven commitment to advancing the university's excellence."

The association has also carefully considered the expectations of its members, stakeholders, and the broader university community, concluding that this transition presents an opportunity for strategic collaboration through purposeful leadership to further the University's development."

On the association's role going forward, the statement added: "The association offers the assurance of its continued support as a strategic stakeholder and partner in this collective pursuit of building a university grounded in academic excellence, strong pedigree, community service, staff welfare, and infrastructural development."

The alumni body equally congratulated the incoming vice chancellor, stating: "We extend our warmest congratulations to Professor Oladipo on his well-deserved appointment as the 6th substantive Vice Chancellor of TASUED, even as he formally resumes office today with the determination to further take our dear University to higher heights."
