The University of Benin has appointed Ms Bimpe Omoyiwola as its 10th substantive Registrar, marking a new chapter in the administration of one of Nigeria's foremost Public Universities.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued by the Institution's Public Relations Officer, Dr Benedicta Ehanire, on Wednesday in Benin. Omoyiwola will succeed Mr. Ademola Bobola, whose five year tenure comes to an end on 31 March. She is expected to assume office on 1 April.
Ehanire noted that Omoyiwola hails from Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State and holds a Master's degree in International History and Diplomacy from the University of Benin, alongside other postgraduate diplomas. She is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Management of Nigeria.
The new Registrar is expected to bring her considerable administrative experience to bear in the management of the Institution's Registry. Before her appointment, she served as Director of Registry at the College of Postgraduate Studies of the University, a role that placed her at the heart of the Institution's Academic Administration.
Her appointment signals the University's commitment to promoting experienced internal candidates into its highest administrative offices.
