The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has released its admission list for the 2025/2026 session. If you’re waiting to hear back, here’s how to check your status, what you’ll need, and what to do next.

Basically, the NOUN admission list shows who got in; these are the names of applicants the university has offered provisional admission. Schools usually put out these lists once they finish screening all the applications.

If you took part in the National Open University admission exercise, here’s some good news from the school management: the list of candidates who got provisional admission into the undergraduate programs for the 2025/2026 session is now online.

  1. Visit the NOUN website

  2. Click on “Admission Status”.

  3. Enter JAMB registration number or Application ID.

  4. Click “Check Admission Status”.

  5. Print admission letter (if admitted).

How To Check NOUN Admission Status On JAMB CAPS

  1. Visit the JAMB Portal

  2. First, log in to your JAMB profile using your username and password.

  3. Scroll down until you see the ‘Check Admission Status’ tab and click it.

  4. Pick your exam year, type in your registration number, and hit ‘Check Admission Status’ again.

If you followed the steps above, you have been able to view your admission status successfully.

How to Apply for the NOUN 2025/2026

Make sure you meet all the requirements for the course you want. Here’s how to apply to NOUN:

  1. Start by registering on JAMB CAPS. If you’re not sure how, look up how to create an account there.

  2. Head over to the nearest JAMB office and apply for NOUN Regularisation.

  3. Once you’ve sorted out the regularisation, open the NOUN admission portal

  4. Click on the Admission menu.

  5. Choose “Apply for Admission.”

  6. The system will ask if you’ve checked the requirements for your chosen program. Click “Yes” to move on.

  7. You’ll need to pay through Remita, so follow the on screen instructions carefully.

  8. After your Remita payment goes through, you’ll end up back on the NOUN portal.

  9. Log in with your password and fill out the online application form.

  10. Double check everything before you hit submit.

  11. Now, head over to your JAMB CAPS dashboard and check your “Admission Status.” It might take a while for your admission to show up, so keep checking in.

  12. Finally, go to your chosen NOUN study centre (pick the one nearest to you) and continue your registration with your JAMB Admission letter.

Keep your RRR number handy, just in case your payment doesn't go through.

National Open University Admission Requirements 2025/2026

The National Open University of Nigeria is now taking applications for the 2025/2026 academic calendar year. If you’re interested, you’ve got until December 31st, 2025, to apply.

Here’s what you need to know: whether you’re going for a degree, a master’s, or a PhD, you must have at least five O-Level credits, including English and math. Also, don’t forget, you need to complete the NOUN regularisation on JAMB CAPS during your application.

NOUN Requirements for Undergraduates 2025/2026

  6. NYSC certificate, but only if it applies to you.

NOUN Requirements for Master's Degree 2025/2026

  2. If you’re Nigerian, you have to show your NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

  3. To get into the PGD program, you’ll need a Bachelor’s degree with at least a Second Class Lower, or an HND in a related field.

  4. Don’t forget to send in two academic reference letters and your statement of purpose.

NOUN Requirements for PhD Degree 2025/2026

Thinking about a PhD at NOUN? Here’s what you need:

  1. If you want to study Law, you’ll need an LLM or MPhil with at least 60%, or a 4.00 CGPA on a 5.00 scale.

  2. If your CGPA is at least 3.50, you can go for a PhD or MPhil in a related field.

  3. You must have a Master’s degree with at least a 4.00 CGPA on a 5.00 scale, either from NOUN or any university approved by the Senate.
