What to Do After Being Admitted
Seeing your name on the EKSU admission list is an amazing experience, one that signifies the start of an exciting new journey.
However, before you get too carried away with celebration, there are some essential steps you need to take to officially secure your position. Here’s what to do right after you confirm your admission:
1. Pay Your EKSU Acceptance Fee: This is the first and most crucial action. The acceptance fee verifies that you have officially accepted the admission offer.
Without this payment, your admission could be revoked. To make the payment, go to the EKSU student portal, log in with your details, and follow the payment instructions provided on the screen.
2. Confirm Admission on JAMB CAPS: Head to the JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) to accept your admission. If you choose to decline it, you will automatically lose your slot.
Steps on How to Check Your Admission on JAMB Caps
Log in to your JAMB profile.
Click on “Check Admission Status.”
Select “Access my CAPS.”
Choose “Admission Status.”
Once you see your admission offer, click “Accept Admission.”
After accepting, be sure to print your JAMB Admission Letter, as you will need it for physical clearance later.
3. Print Your Admission Letter from the EKSU Portal: Revisit the EKSU portal and print your official admission letter. This document serves as evidence of your admission and will be necessary during registration.
4. Prepare for Clearance and Registration: When the school year officially kicks off, you will need to show all your documents for physical screening. Keep the following documents ready:
Original JAMB result slip
Birth certificate or age declaration
O-level results (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB)
Local government identification letter
Payment receipts (acceptance fee and others)

Please note that you can only complete steps 5 to 8 after you have paid all necessary fees.
If your O-level result does not fulfil the requirements for your course, select Apply for Change of Programme on the portal and await approval.
Upon resuming school, visit the Academic Affairs Office to submit four (4) copies of all uploaded documents along with proof of full fee payment.
After finishing all procedures, you will be able to print your Clearance Slip, Registration Form, and Examination Permit.
For Candidates Yet to Be Admitted
If your admission status reads “Not Admitted” at the moment, don’t worry. It doesn’t mean that you’ve been removed; it simply means that your admission process is still under review. During this waiting period, here’s what you should consider doing:
Regularly check both the EKSU and JAMB CAPS portals.
Make sure you have correctly uploaded your O-level results onto JAMB CAPS.
Stay vigilant for new admission lists; EKSU frequently releases various lists, including first, second, and supplementary batches.
Maintain patience and a positive outlook. Many candidates secure admission in the second or third rounds.
Keep in mind that perseverance is important; your name might appear in the upcoming update.
